Medical & Institutional Losses

A loss in a healthcare or institutional building is the damage plus everything it takes to work inside a building that keeps operating around the repair. Atlas writes the reconstruction from a measured sketch, top down and trade by trade, with the infection-control containment, the after-hours labor, the rated assemblies, and the life-safety and mechanical systems that have to be tested and signed off before occupancy, each as the named line it is. Most of our commercial estimating experience is hospital and institutional work, including surgical suites gutted to the studs.

What’s Different Here

ICRA before the first wall opens.

On a medical campus the infection-control nurse asks for the ICRA plan before a crew touches anything. Containment, negative air, anterooms, and the monitoring that goes with them are line items with a duration, not an assumption in the demolition line.

Systems, not just finishes.

Med gas, nurse call, fire alarm, sprinkler, and the air handling that serves the space come back with testing and certification by licensed trades. Each is written on its own, with the testing on its own.
